An idea of been wanting to do for a while.

What are mermaids closer too? Man or fish. Do they give birth like a dolphin or women? Or do they lay one tiny egg and carry and cherish the the tiny case till the day thier child is born? The mermaids purse holds thier most valuable treasure.
