Warden's Sacrifice by chronicdoodler Warden's Sacrifice by chronicdoodler
Fiona from "The Calling". It is possible for Warden's to conceive, and Poor Fiona wanted her child to have a good life so she gave him up :<. That and the Weissept compelled her to D:

No spoilers in comments please. Go read the book people, that and "The Stolen throne" :D

If you simply must verify something note me :)

EDIT: Finished! Also given advice about Fiona's coloring I couldn't be arsed to look up :D

Fiona had the blight removed from her (somehow) which restored her to normal so I don't think she is a good source to confirm that wardens still have reproductive abilities

I wonder who this child really is?

Some people say that this is Alistair and that Goldanna's mother did die and Alistair was told that his mother was human and not a Grey Warden Elf, I myself could be brought to believe that

others speculate that this could be Ander's but I seriously doubt to that to a certain degree

This is a really beautiful portrayal of a very sad moment from The Calling. I cried when I read it and tears are in my eyes again now as I look at your picture :(
Can I just question something though? I've just finished the book and know that Fiona was described as having black hair and dark/grey eyes. It seems a little odd that someone advised you to change the colouring for this image as as far as I recall, it is now not right. Not a criticism of you as you said you took advice on that. Just a query, not a criticism. Excellent work.

This is a beautiful picture of Fiona and her child. It fits the book perfectly.

And in my opinion "The Stolen Throne" and "The Calling" are way better than "Asunder"

Aww this is so sad but really good. The little baby is so cute and playing with her necklace is the perfect touch! I originally read The Calling because of Duncan but I enjoyed the other people scattered in it.

I love how you captured Fiona's feelings in this drawing! Being a mother myself, I can understand how hard had to be to leave her son away. Hope he got a good life! (and yes, I've read the book and loved it!)

Now she's got the correct color of hair and eyes (according to the book's description) the image is perfect!!! The baby is specially touching, smiling unaware that he will part from his mother soon...

You know some people insist, that we in fact all know her son even if we never read the book and he was merely misinformed about who his mother is.
I'm not sure about that theory myself, but it certainly does make sense.

And I did like the little tease at the end (trying not to delve spoilers here >.<) Actually makes for a better story. And let's just say I saw a certain character differently

Ah me too, even if I already suspected something. Even with that hint, you know, most servants in DA universe are elves so I hade the feeling it was this case too... (LOL trying not to make spoilers either)

sniff sniff tear :cries:

For some reason, I'm drawn to the baby's hands... some artists don't pay attention to details like that... they just draw adult hands... just really small! But his are small and chubby and babies are always grabbing at things around your neck. And pulling your hair. :giggle:
