light at the end of the tunnelI am glad I signed up for Artermis design group, that will make it easier to print out my portfolio with Mr.Kane in the class. Not to mention cheaper with free prints :3. Though I need to wrap my head around a press kit for a client, and I have barely had a chance to sit down and think about it with all my other projects going on. He deals in LBGT rights and making people aware of the violence against them. On top of that a drag queen event, which my teammate seems to want to do serious and I am aiming more humorous and fun. I mean drag queens have to have a pretty good sense of humor right?
Trying to make the two events visually cohesive will be tricky because of our two distinct styles. He is heavy on photomanipulation and I am more illustrative. Though I do like working in groups it is a little intimidating. I hope we can make this work. We are both good designers.
Unfortunately, due to the non-disclosure thing I signed when I joined the design group, I can't show you it. But I am using a vector pink peacock feather I made as a metaphor for a drag queen. The headline "Flaunt your plumage". I know Jen is gonna say something to that
. It's kind of her motto. But I though of it in the shower.Features till I change it

A group of mine did something in design honors for Healthy Mothers-Healthy Babies. Something that would go on the buses. Well my idea was to get their attention with scare tactics and drama. I found a baby all hooked up in an incubator, we used it.
Someone did something very clever and well executed, unique in a positive way. Ours was serious, negative, and dramatic. It was relating to the health of the mother and dental hygiene. Ours, though visually not unique or happy, or relating much to dental hygiene other than text, ended up getting chosen. People like drama O_o
It's random really. I personally think they'll like the happier version...
At least the PLOOMAGE saying is going to good use.

Though after looking at the plumage I think I am gonna drop the peacock feather and use several sillouettes of drag queens being fabulous with the same headline. Though its a pity I worked on that feather for 2 and half hours D:.

Oh, and don't make the design simple... this is drag queens, they're anything but. Reflect that in your design. Detail and layers. Do it. .... Do it.
