I really do. My mom loves new technology. But she is terrible at it. She bought an Ipad and I spend hours setting up everything, because she doesn't understand any of it, especially the importance of remembering passwords.

Ever set up an account that requires an email and then find out they forgot the password to the email account so you have to get the password for the email, before you get the account setup and verified via the email?!?!? The topper is the security question she chose is no longer relevant. "Whats the name of you pet?" You've had this account for 12 years and at any given time at least 3 pets. So I type the name of 10 different pets. Finally unlock everything, and she has a fully functioning machine.

Then she mistypes her new password(s) so many times they lock all over again and need to be verified.

They aren't marked special, they are just one for email, one for work phone, one for casual phone, and one for facebook created profile that buggers up everyones profile pictures. She did this purposefully guys. I think I am going to cry.

One thing that surprises me about America is Tintin is relatively unknown here. I lived in Canada for seven years, on a hill, on top a mountain so tv channels were few and far between, but I fortunately got to see this amazing cartoon series. It was a cartoon where there were amazing adventures and a badass Sherlock-esque hero who solves crimes and is in life threatening situations every single episode (often multiple times). People shoot at each other (Star trooper aim, but still).  I loved it, I drew all the characters and OC's every saturday when this was on. I think he was one of my first crushes (shut up -_-).

So I was surprised when my friends were confused  with my geeking out last year when I saw the first poster. "OMG TINTIN!!!" (flailing ensued). Not one of my American friends knew who Tintin was. "BLASPHEMY!" I screamed before sulking away.

So fellow Yanks, go to theater and discover what the rest of the world already knows. Tintin is a BAMF. I saw it twice. Once with my Dad who grudgingly followed me since he knew no one else in the family would (He liked it, but got a headache from the 3D. He's sensitive, the 3d is actually very well done). and once with two friends who had know idea who Tintin was, and they admitted that is was pretty freaking awesome.

I say this selfishly of course, I want a sequel pretty flipping bad. So we need to up those ticket sales people!

ALSO Steven Speilberg directs, Peter Jackson does effects and mo cap, and Andy Serkis is Haddock. Really do you need any other reason than that?

True pixie cut by chronicdoodler

Yay went even shorter and I love it to death :D

also I just remembered this so want to share.

---------------------
I was showing the girls at work the pixie cut I was going to get. and for context, Mike is a guy I kind of liked.

Conversation goes:

Me: See this is the one!

Girl 1: OMG so cute!

Girl 2: It would look perfect on you! Mike look at the haircut Mary's gonna get.

*Comes over and looks at picture*

Mike: I don't like short hair on girls. *walks away*

D:

Internal thought processor: ………  *Bitch please*

*Strut into work the next day with about 10 less inches of hair.*

So I am forever alone and look fucking fabulous!

end story

Thanks everyone for your advice and support. I got my hair cut yesterday and I am really loving my new 'do hair update by chronicdoodler

Spend most of my time throwing product in it and derping around sculpting my hair. Last image is my attempt at the Ace Ventura "white devil" do :D

So I love the spunkiness of short cuts, but whenever I head into to get my haircut I wuss out. the shortest I have ever gotten it is to my chin, and I am playing with a short audrey hepburn cut. Any advice? If it helps my face looks like this s462.photobucket.com/albums/qq…

I like it when my hair is short and like to pull my hair out of my face all the time into a ponytail. A pixie cut is so daunting though, any hints?

Kiriban rules

Journal Entry: Fri Jun 10, 2011, 8:32 AM

Feel free to ignore this if you read the last one. Some of the kiriban groups haven't responded to remove my kiriban, so I want to make sure this is easily seen  before 55k.

NEW RULE: This may seem harsh but here it is. If I sense that you're on deviantart only to hunt for kiribans I will deny you the prize and give it to another. I have requested my info be removed from the kiriban group lists, because the last person I did a kiriban for caused my pageviews to jump by several hundred in one night and his page is nothing but hidden comments, No art, no favorites, no comments. nothing. I was the only person he was devwatching because I requested it in the rules.

A kiriban is meant to be a prize for those who participate in this community and it is my way to give back in a fair way to the wonderful people who watch my page. I would love to do requests for everyone but that unfortunately that is not possible.

1) First one to message me and follows the rules wins automatically. If multiple people catch it, I will let you know if I have the time to make art for you too. I am a big softie, so its likely.

A good tip for speed is to have multiple tabs open, one for a note to me, one for an already completed submission form and whichever graphics program you have. Sounds a little excessive, but apparently there are kiriban pros out there. Last two winners were literally only a minute and a half difference. Serious business 0___0

2) When screencapping make sure to include your clock in the image, along with your timezone in the description.

3) If you won the very last round, please abstain from the next to be fair to others.

4) Only people who have me on their devwatch can participate. It's nice to know people who like my work, would like something made by me. Also its very helpful because I like to give a warning journal when the kiriban is coming up.

Examples of previous kiribans: The Proposal by chronicdoodler Vault 101 romance by chronicdoodler Creed Origins Kiriban 4 Draco by chronicdoodler

I think that's it... Any questions or comments feel free to ask. Hopefully, this is not too much. I am always going into these things, not really thinking beyond "YAY I GET TO DRAW PRETTY PICTURES!!!!" I plan to have them set about 5k a part from now on

Why I hate Anora

Journal Entry: Fri Jun 3, 2011, 8:57 AM

One thing that gets me when people say she is a good ruler. A few points against her.

1) She doesn't question her father or do anything immediately after her husband dies, and kind of drops the subject when she does confront him. And continues to allow him to rule more than she.

2) She doesn't do a damn thing when Couslands die. I assume Howe told her they were working with the Orlesians, but she doesn't ask why Howe's army were conveniently absent from the battle of Ostagar, while Highever's were among those who fought and died at Ostagar.

3) How does she not notice her people are being sold into slavery. Or lets say she didn't realize people were disappearing instead of dying of the disease in the alienage. You're telling me no one told her there would be a large group of templars and mages in her own city? And she didn't think to say you can't cure illness or poison with magic?

4) Her father sacrificed thousands of mens lives at White river in his youth to save Maric, the kings life. He could have easily prevented the kings death, or die trying. The fact he got away with his life and his entire army shows what his true intention was.

5) as our character knows, thousands of people die at the hands of darkspawn, an entire town is lost. The only royal army unit we see are those trying to hunt down the warden. The entire grey warden regimate is dead, you blame them for the death of the king and they think its a good use of resources to hunt down two junior members?

She is not a good ruler in my opinion. In fact, she is a terrible ruler, perhaps she is better during times of peace, but as soon as civil war, and her people begin to die she is all to happy to pass the responsibility of to her father.

I don't care that she betrays you in game, or she is manipulative. Frankly a good ruler has to be. These are the reasons I can't stand her as a ruler.

I wrote this as a comment and kind of wanted to discuss it so :B

10 facts about me

Journal Entry: Tue May 24, 2011, 8:29 PM

:iconniksche: Tagged me, too lazy to do tag backs. :D

1) I  have a hobby of collecting charms for my charm bracelet. Tricky hobby since most charms are melted or cheaply made nowadays. Charm bracelet by chronicdoodler I love jewelry that has a personal connection. I also wear my late grandfathers gold coral cufflink as a necklace.

2) WTH I don't even. Factoid 1 made me discover I don't know how to spell Pennsylvania I lived there for 7 years!

3) I am a huge nerd, fan of D&D, DC comics, animated movies and video games.

4) Will play the same song on repeat till I literally become sick of it XD. Current repeat is scouting for girls song called "Heartbeat".

5) I start sentences midway through a thought. Drives my sister absolutely bonkers.

6) Can be both quiet and introspective, and loud and gregarious. New people make the mistake of thinking I am a shy person, nothing personal, I just don't to talk to everyone XD

7) I am pretty well spoken and eloquent, but the sight of a bunny makes me go straight up retarded. I don't care what I am doing, driving, talking to a cop or having a serious conversation, if I see a rabbit, I stop and yell "BUNNY!!!".

8) I broke my finger recently when I was dancing like an idiot in my room. It's all good now.

9) Also slammed my middle finger in a door recently, and as the fingernail was going black and I was resisting cussing like a sailor since my grandma was visiting I discovered I have a pretty high tolerance for pain, since none of my finger related incidents made me cry even a little.

10) I secretly hope I am a mutant and my high tolerance of pain is confirmation of this.

I tag all my peeps in the highly exclusive Clumsy like a Champ Club!

Rapture

Journal Entry: Fri May 20, 2011, 11:39 PM

So I was surprised to find there is a fringe group of Christians who believe the world is going to end. Though I would assume that God would go by Jerusalem time, so as I write this it is more obvious what the outcome of all this rapture talk is.

Never really matters what my personal inclination is, my belief in God or lack thereof doesn't change the belief that everyone is entitled to their own personal beliefs and choosing the ideology that will best take them through this difficult, tragic, and wholly wonderful world and life we are all given. As fellow travelers to the grave and not competitors through our days.

And while I am sure there are a myriad of articles, blogs, and art mocking these people, and I am sure even more come Sunday, I can't help but feel bad. Some have stopped preparing for the future, some stopped saving for their child's college, and will be sitting with their families preparing for the end.

I'd imagine it be akin to knowing you were going to die of cancer, so you quit your job, go on vacation, spend all your money and make all preparations and discover you will live after all. A bittersweet outcome, though, life is always better then death. Except if you sincerely believe that you're to be taken to heaven, enfolded into your God's love and your life here will end. Then finding the world does not end takes on a kind of terrible concept, faith will be tested, the reality of the future must be accounted for, and what if someone's faith completely breaks?

Suicide attempts go up every time they speculate on a doomsday, one doesn't need faith in God to go through this world, but to have your beliefs, any belief suddenly tested and torn leads to some heady existential crises, religious or not.

So tomorrow take it on easy on the Rapture folk, and perhaps indulge in the idea to live as if the world can end, not with nihilism but with hope, love and kindness. And approach each day with the knowledge no one knows for sure when their world will end. So revel in each day, and be there for your family by blood, affection and the family who share the earth and sky.

Dear Umbrella Corp: As a graphic designer, I applaud your exemplary dedication to consistent corporate design. Yes, during a zombie apocalypse you find time to paint everything white and I assume methodically clean even the most impractical of spaces such as cargo holds, helidocks and the like.

And yet customers will have trouble appreciating your consistent corporate graphic design, because you seem hell bent on destroying everyone. This faux paux is economics 101. Don't kill customers. Killing off the entire planet to hide the truth, is going to seriously effect your profit sharing, no matter how many times you plaster your logo on shit.

Umbrella you are not Walmart, stop being stupid.

Created a group

Journal Entry: Sun Feb 27, 2011, 9:12 AM

So I created a group to house the ever growing amount of references coming in for the "Expressions reference project" and also to bring together all the useful tutorials and references for the visual artist.

The goal is only to provide useful reference and tutorials so your inboxes won't be flooded with personal artwork and stock, which is one of the reasons I have to leave some of my favorite groups. Too many artworks, not enough tutorials and I often miss handy reference because of an eventual mass delete because I don't have time to search through the images.

Stock will be allowed in the Faves though, so that vital reference can be found, without it showing in your devwatches. Just like a library, you need a specific reference go the catalogue and pull exactly what you need.

Please join up, offer CC or advice, or requests, and let me know how I can make this group better for you. Thank you!
